EVERY TRADITION HAS A BEGINNING....

SKOOKUM Gold Camp is a unique, ALL INCLUSIVE camp that offers a number of great opportunities to our guests! Located in Central, Alaska about 128 miles Northeast from Fairbanks, it's a beautiful 2 hour ride down the Steese Highway in the heart of the Circle Mining District!

For 2024, you'll be based at our Roadhouse in a hostel-style hotel environment and all packages include:

-Transportation to & from Fairbanks Airport

-7 Nights Lodging

-Meals

-ATV

-Metal Detector

-Access to all kinds of Wet Prospecting Equipment such as Dredges of all sizes, High-Bankers, Sluice Boxes & MORE!

LODGING & MEALS

You'll get 7 nights of lodging AND you can eat right here at the restaurant, or pick some food to take with you to the claims! You'll get to choose from a wide variety of foods available on our menu. This is especially awesome for picky eaters!  Eat what you want, when you want with no set meal time!(Additional Sides & Alcoholic Beverages Extra) 

You'll have access to phone service on site and there is a Post Office less than a block away!

EQUIPMENT

EVERYTHING is included! You'll get an ATV to use for your entire stay! If ATV riding isn't your style, we will try to accommodate getting you transportation to the goldfields!

You'll also get a Minelab Metal Detector to carry along with you as well as access to Dredging, Sluicing, Highbanking and MORE!

You can even check out a Minelab Pulse Induction detector!(check out detectors are in limited supply and based on availability)

ADVENTURE

Prospect & Explore on over 900 acres of gold bearing land on 4 different creeks!  We will be giving a weekly tour of our mining operation as well!

You can fish for Arctic Grayling in a number of nearby creeks and even catch Northern Pike on Birch Creek at various spots along the Steese Hwy just a few miles from where you'll be staying.

Hop on your ATV and just enjoy exploring in the Great Alaska Wilderness!

VISIT THE CIRCLE MINING DISTRICT HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Visit one of the nicest little museums out there! See old mining antiques and learn about the history of the Circle Mining District!

The Museum also hosts the famous Miners Picnic every Summer at the end of July which draws hundreds of people from all over Alaska and beyond!  It's a pig roast, potluck, panning contest, miner olympics extraveganza that has AMAZING raffles and raises money for the Mining District as well as the Museum.
